The Islamic Center of Southern California is pleased about the arrest of the two suspected snipers who terrified metropolitan Washington D.C. and the whole nation. The Islamic Center and the Muslim community extend our sincere condolences to the victim's families. We also appreciate the sincere efforts of law enforcement agencies and the cooperation of all the law-abiding citizens. We also urge the media to continue the objective coverage in search for the truth and to stay away from the opportunists who may exploit the name of one of the suspect to demonize and denigrate a whole community.

We continue to pray for lasting peace and safety of all people.
