The Islamic Center of Southern California (ICSC) is relieved at the capture of the tyrant dictator, Saddam Hussein. The dictator who oppressed and massacred his people for so long is finally brought to justice hopefully by the Iraqis who suffered his injustice.

Tyranny and oppression is condemned by Islam which affirms justice and equity as the foundation of civilized society.

“O ye who believe! stand out firmly for God, as witnesses to the truth in all equity, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety. Quran (Chapter 5, Verse 8)

The humiliating capture of the tyrant in an underground hall, should be a valuable lesson that justice will prevail in spite of the tyranny of falsehood. We hope that the fall of Saddam Hussein is a positive step on the road to establish a just and equitable democratic society in Iraq.
